Thu, February 17, 2005 - 4:06 PMNow that sounds amazing! I am just now making a black cherry smoothie (no vodka yet)....
I love straight-up chilled vodka.
My favorite so far is Precis.
I must try this Black Cherry vodka. It is my favorite fruit.
Yum!

Fri, February 18, 2005 - 11:14 AMI tried the Black Cherry at a club 2 months ago. I was very skeptical at first but when I sipped it, my taste buds exploded with delight. -

Mon, February 28, 2005 - 2:58 PMIm not too fond of any flavoured vodkas, I just like it the way it is. I have a sentimental attachment to Stoli. Iceburg is a good inexpensive bottle, Grey Goose is quite lovely, I guess it all depends on the mood Im in or how much money I have on hand. -

Thu, March 3, 2005 - 1:19 AMStoli has a nice Rasbury vodka that mixes perfectly with 7Up. It also makes great jello shots, if you like those things.

Thu, March 17, 2005 - 2:32 PMI love Tito's. It is made in Austin, distilled six times, and it really wonderful, especially for the price. You can get it at Trader Joe's for about $16.99 a bottle. It is better than many vodkas costing much more money. Some consider it one of the top vodkas in the world. -

Re: Current Favorite!
Thu, March 17, 2005 - 6:54 PMThat *is* a major value for 6 distillations... I'd read an interesting article (I may seek it out for this tribe) showing how even a home-based filtration system (using like a Britta filter) can clean impurities out of the crappiest tasting vodka to make it clean and water-esque....
Trader Joe's, eh?
Hmm.........
No one has tried Precis though? Weird... -

Re: Current Favorite!
Thu, March 17, 2005 - 11:55 PMI read the same article and am really interested in trying it out. The idea is to use a Brita or a similar type of water filter to filter out the impurities in the vodka. Apparently a lot of the high end boutique vodka makers actually buy their vodka unfiltered from the big vodka producers and then filter the vodkas themselves using various methods. The idea is you can buy a big 1.75 liter jug of cheap ass vodka with tons of impurities and filter it through a water filter several times.
Anyway, if you don't want to mess with that, Tito's is wonderful. An incredible vodka with lots of character for not a lot of money. I am still curious about the diy method, though. It would be fun to have a tasting with a bunch of different vodkas along with a batch of home filtered cheap ass shit. -

Re: Current Favorite!
Tue, March 29, 2005 - 2:42 PMBeen doing it for months but using actual carcoal from www.milehidistilling.com
Works like a charm. It doesn't have the delicate flavors you might find in other vodkas but it also means that your $9.99/1.75L vodka extremely smooth. I'll try to post on it another time but if you're interested feel free to msg me.
